DHU is supporting regional specialization by keeping close relationships with local governments of the Daegu, Gyeongbuk area. Also, DHU presents a vision to nurture the herbal bio-industry, a future industry expected to play an important role in national development, as one of the country's major industries.
 

In cooperation with Samsung Medical Center, DHU is the first in the nation to acquire research-education facilities, such as herbal clinical testing centers (CTC), herbal life resource research centers (RRC) and herbal industry technology research centers (TIC), along with IT equipment support from the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) and research & development infrastructure for multimedia information communication.

 

DHU was appointed as an exemplary university in specialization by the Ministry of Education & Human Resources Development, and in 2004, the university stands as the central university of the Daegu, Gyeongbuk area, in the New University for Regional Innovation (NURI), operating specialized education, nurturing future herbal industry related potential.
